Bursaries for Students Studying Outside the Constituency

In a strong show of dedication to education and youth empowerment, Hon. Wakili Edward Muriu, the Member of Parliament for Gatanga Constituency, is once again supporting learners through the Gatanga NG-CDF bursary program. This time, the bursary issuance specifically targets secondary school students from Gatanga who are studying in schools outside the constituency.

The cheque issuance event will take place on Tuesday, 27 May 2025, starting promptly at 8:00 AM, at the NG-CDF Mabanda Offices. Students who qualify for this bursary must be residents of Gatanga Constituency but enrolled in secondary schools beyond the region’s borders.

This move by Hon. Edward Muriu under the #MsingiBoraProgram underscores a progressive and inclusive approach to education support in Murang’a County. While many bursary programs focus only on local schools, this initiative goes a step further by recognizing that Gatanga students often seek quality education in other counties—and they deserve equal support.

The Gatanga CDF bursaries are designed to ease the financial pressure on parents and guardians by directly contributing to school fees. With rising education costs across Kenya, this financial boost will be a welcome relief to many families, ensuring that no child misses out on education due to lack of fees.

The bursaries will be disbursed via cheques, which will be handed over to beneficiaries or their guardians during the event. This method ensures accountability and direct access to the funds by the respective schools.

This initiative is part of a broader commitment by Hon. Wakili Edward Muriu to promote accessible and equitable education in Gatanga. It reflects a long-term vision of investing in the constituency’s human capital, nurturing future leaders, and supporting academic excellence.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to accompany their children to the NG-CDF Mabanda Offices on the specified date and bring all necessary documents to facilitate smooth processing.

Through programs like the Gatanga bursary program, the constituency continues to shine as a model for inclusive development. The focus on students—regardless of where they study—shows that Gatanga’s leadership prioritizes real impact over politics.
